Orientation Programme at North Eastern Fire Service Academy, 2024
The North Eastern Fire Service Academy (NEFSA) recently held a dynamic orientation program to welcome its new students and provide valuable insights into the academy’s role in shaping skilled fire service professionals.
Special Guests:
1. Raj Kumar Morang, Advisor of the All Mising Student Union (TMPK) and former President (Central) for 15 years, spoke about the critical role of NEFSA in society. He emphasized how the academy’s training programs not only contribute to public safety but also foster a sense of responsibility and leadership within the community.
2. Jayanta Kumar Barua, DGM (HR) at BCPL, discussed the importance of the courses offered at NEFSA and their alignment with industry needs. He highlighted various job profiles in the fire service sector and emphasized how NEFSA’s curriculum prepares students for rewarding careers in both public and private sectors.
3. Debojit Gogoi, former coach of the All India Football Federation, delivered an engaging talk on the importance of health in the fire service. He stressed the motto, “Health is wealth,” and emphasized that physical fitness is crucial for firefighters, given the demanding nature of the profession. Mr. Gogoi expressed his delight in learning about the diverse job opportunities available in the fire service, noting the alignment between fitness and professional success in this field.
Cultural Session: The event also featured a vibrant cultural session, inaugurated by Mr. Padmadhar Changmai, Assistant Coordinator. Cadets Parismita Gogoi, Narayan Saikia, Kaushik Saharia, and Manav Tai participated in this session, showcasing their talents. A special mention goes to Kaushik Saharia, who delivered an outstanding performance during the event.
