North Eastern Fire Service Academy was established in the district of Dibrugarh, Assam under the Government of India, in accordance with the Societies Registration Act of 1860 and the Government of Assam Trust Act. The Academy is also affiliated with the Government of Assam, Skill, Employment and Entrepreneurship Department, strengthening its commitment to skill development and employment generation in the region.

The primary objective of the Academy is to empower unemployed youth across the entire North Eastern region of India by providing comprehensive training in Fire and Safety. Through structured programs led by experienced professionals, the Academy prepares candidates to become skilled Fire and Safety personnel, enabling them to secure employment in various industries, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), and government departments. Additionally, trainees are equipped to serve as responsible emergency volunteers, contributing to national safety and disaster preparedness.

The Academy also plays a vital role in promoting community awareness by organizing Fire and Safety education programs. These initiatives aim to educate the general public about fire hazards, accident prevention, and emergency response measures, thereby fostering a culture of safety within society.
